Hallow’een/Oiche Samhna/Nos calan gaeaf

All Hallows’ Eve, when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest – whether you believe that or not, this is traditionally a time of year when the living think of the dead, their own and others; when past meets present, and the accumulated wisdom of both living and dead may be heard by any prepared to listen.  Any further introduction to the following short clip would be inadequate: all you have to do now is watch, listen – and marvel, for humanity at its best is here, shining through the darkness.  And best wishes to you, Alice, for your birthday on 26 November.

UPDATE: for reasons I simply cannot fathom, the promotional video clip accompanying this post has been pulled. However, you may find it on YouTube – ‘Alice dancing under the gallows.’

Extravagant tip of the hat + thanks to Norm.

One day (not soon I hope) (maybe tonight) I will reach back the endless comfort of non-being… Some people will keep my souvenir alive for some time, some of the kilobytes I used to spread here and there will spoil the infosphere for years… sorry !

Fortunately we have to move and make room for newcomers.

And fortunately we have got the ability of transmitting memory, that allows mankind to progress, if properly used…

    Thank you Alice,

Bravissimo ! and keep playin’ !

Pascalou: that sums up how I, too, feel about all this. I suspect Alice herself would also appreciate what you say. Chapeau, et merci infiniment!
